Should You Mix As You Go?

So…fundamentally we believe it’s always best to mix separately from tracking. It always sounds better, and if the recording engineer did their job well then the mix will sound great. The guys over at iZotope wrote a great article about this, and described some of the problems that “mixing as you go” can cause, and why most projects benefit from separating these processes:
